Hands down, Chima Steakhouse is the best-dressed Brazilian outpost around.

January 23, 2008 - Certainly not Mortons, or even Flemmings, but not bad beef. Service is another matter. Atrocious. Arrived for a 8:30 reservation, having emphasized that as a diabetic, timing was essential. Arrived at 8:20. Was told there would be a 15 minute wait. 8:45, still waiting. 9:00 still waiting. Spoke to the floor manager, Mehdi, who assured me we'd be seated in five minutes. 9:20 -- still waiting. Finally, at 9:30, as we started to leave, we were told our table was ready. Once seated, we were shown the salad bar, which was quite good, and we were given the wine menu.
The meat servers came regularly enough, but we could never get anyone to take our wine order or drink order. Repeatedly asked for a wine/drink waiter. For me, beef without wine is simply not a complete meal. The wine menu was still on the table after we finished our meal. In short, adequate food, but zipsquat service. Overall, an embarassment.

January 21, 2008 - Chima is by far one of the best restaurant we have ever been in the DC area. First of all, the entire menu is organic, with top-of-the-line ingredients
You can tell just by looking at then.
Compare it to horrible places such as coastal flats, where basically they make money because they are in “fashion”  The bar is so crowded and full of loud obnoxious semi drunk people that puts Chimas as one of the exceptions in well educated clientele
Also the plates, silverware, napkins and tables are flawless. And alleluia! They serve you your drinks in “real glasses and not plastic cups”

Also, the meats are great, tender and very well prepared.
The decoration is magnificent, with a linear, simplistic-contemporary Brazilian style. They have a very expensive modern art collection.
Now talk about  price; for being an all you can eat with such a great salad bar, I think it is cheap. We had  8 beers the all you can eat, and mate at the end for 100 Dollares.
Also, we had a great waitress that was not only nice, but kind and very pretty.
Now of course this is not any restaurant. This is a rodicio. Rodicios don’t have the waiter down on his knees for you, because they are serving all the tables at the same time. And you don’t have an assigned person just for you table.
If you don’t know how it goes then you might think that the service is not as deducates as in other restaurants, but it actually is
We love it and I give it a 10

September 25, 2007 - Um, that's how Brazilian Steakhouses stay in business... they can't feed you every 3 seconds and make a profit... if the steak is good and they aren't constantly coming around with the cheap stuff, be happy.

"Wait Staff Needs to be Trained" by RestReview (1 review)
August 20, 2007 - We've eaten at the Tyson's Chima twice.  The last time was Saturday evening.   Our waitress was not attentive - almost non-existent.  At the end of our meal, we were handed a comment card with our check.  We completed the comment card and our intention was to return it to the restaurant manager.  Our waitress was insistent that we return it to her.  I'm sure it never made it to anyone of authority which is too bad.  The overall experience would have been a 9 on a scale of 1-10 - but her lack of service made it a 6 at best.

July 24, 2007 - We drove an hour and ahlf on Sunday to try the new Chima in Tysons Corner. Lo and behold -- they had a "fire alarm problem" and the place was shuttered. WOW!  all that way and not even a complimentary cocktail coupon just a cold see you at the door. Things like this can't be helped, but the rude way in which they treated everyone was unreasonable.  I am sorry they lost an entire night's service. We won't be back.
