"Solid"
by FoodieKent
(2 reviews) August 14, 2008 - Menu needs to be changed more frequently, but we've always seemed to enjoy our experience here. The service is spotty on occasion, but we find the food to be cooked the way we ask for it. Fish is a solid bet here. I like their lunch here and like the bar in the back. If the Italian place down the street had a place to grab a drink and wait for a table it would compete much better with Evening Star. As long as it stays solid it'll stay on my once/month list, not quite on the every other week list but definitely solid.

"Good"

(4 reviews) July 18, 2008 - We used to be regulars here, it's a solid menu with a nice bar in the back to wait if you come at peak time. Things are always cooked the way you ask for them, and I personally have found the service good. I like it a lot for lunch. We got a little bored with the menu as it doesn't change often enough, but I can't say I've had complaints about the food or service. I think the Post's 2 star rating is at least a 1/2 star too low.

"good food Bad service"

(1 review) January 20, 2008 - i was really excited about the cafe because my coworker said it was a great place to go. I thought the food was ok. i got the cinamon apple french toast and a side of fruit. At the end of my meal, i felt that i should had stayed home. Plus what really made the experience unpleasant was the staff service. Granted i got their brunch 15 min till closing, but they were the rudest and unfriendliest waiterers ever! No high, welcome, how is your food? do you need anything? thank you for coming?! NOTHING! not a thing...so thank you evening star cafe for giving me an awesome experience. next time, i will go to my favorite Los Tio's down the street whenever i decide to get a bite to eat. |
